| Global Centre for Pluralism
The Global Centre for Pluralism is a
project of the Aga Khan Foundation Canada. The Foundation
has leased the former War Museum at 230 Sussex Drive from
the Government of Canada and will rehabilitate and add to
this structure to create the GCP. This has also created
an opportunity to upgrade the surrounding neighbourhood
setting. At the initiative of the Foundation and in
collaboration with other key stakeholders including the
National Gallery of Canada, the Royal Canadian Mint and
the National Capital Commission a joint approach to
precinct planning is being undertaken along the Ottawa
riverfront from the Rideau Canal to the Rideau Falls and
along Sussex Drive extending inland to the popular Byward
Market area. The Foundation has engaged Ken Greenberg
along with Kuwabara Payne McKenna Blumberg Architects
(KPMB) and HR&A Advisors Inc. to undertake the
preparation of this strategic neighbourhood Precinct
Plan.
